Which Supplement?

  • If I am starting a low carbohydrate diet?
  • If I am a diabetic?
  • If I have cardio-vascular disease?
  • If I am feeling low energy?
  • If I am an athlete?

If I am starting a low carbohydrate diet?

Basic Nutrients V--Multi Vitamin - Mineral-Chelated:
A good multiple vitamin/mineral to ensure an overall balance of nutrients.Replacement for the Protein Power Multiple. 180 caps. Advanced hypoallergenic formula of vitamins & Minerals formulated for the low-carb lifestyle. High quality for maximum absorption. Without iron and iodine. Suggested dose: Men--6 caps/day, women--4 caps/day.

Magnesium citrate and Potassium citrate or our Mag/K combination:
These minerals are important for energy production and will help replace electrolytes that may be initially depleted when lowering carbohydrate intake. Suggested dose: 3-4 capsules each magnesium citrate and potassium citrate /day or 2-4 Mag/K /day. Magnesium in excess may cause diarrhea.

Ultrachrome 200 mcg:
Chromium, an essential trace mineral required for normal function of the insulin receptor, helps to improve the body's sensitivity to insulin, thus reducing not only insulin levels, but often cholesterol levels as well. Adequate chromium helps to curb appetite, especially for sugars and starches, and may boost metabolism. Dietary sources of chromium are limited and for that reason, as many as 90% of American diets may be deficient in this critical mineral. Suggested supplemental dose: 200 to 1000 micrograms per day.

L-Carnitine powder:
An amino acid like substance that enhances the fat burning process of the body. When lowering carbohydrates, the body will use fat as it's energy source so efficient fat metabolism equals energy! Studies have shown this valuable vita-nutrient to be a key supporter of the body's use of stored body fat for energy, especially for overweight people. L-Carnitine has also been shown to stabilize heart rhythm, lower triglyceride levels and increase HDL (good) cholesterol. o Suggested dose: Men and women-1/4 tsp. mixed in water, taken 2-3 times/day on an empty stomach

If I am a diabetic?

Basic Nutrients V--Multi Vitamin - Mineral-Chelated:
A good multiple vitamin/mineral to ensure an overall balance of nutrients.Replacement for the Protein Power Multiple. 180 caps. Advanced hypoallergenic formula of vitamins & Minerals formulated for the low-carb lifestyle. High quality for maximum absorption. Without iron and iodine. Suggested dose: Men--6 caps/day, women--4 caps/day.

Magnesium Citrate 150 mg:
Magnesium Citrate is a critical mineral involved in over 320 enzymatic reactions, important among them normal insulin receptor function, bone mineralization, blood pressure, heart rhythm, and muscle and nerve function. Adequate magnesium helps counteract the damaging effects of stress and also helps alleviate headache, asthmatic wheezing, and constipation. Dietary sources included dark green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds. Usual suggested supplemental dose: 400 to 600 milligrams per day.

Thiocid 100mg
: Alpha Lipoic Acid is a powerful antioxidant and free-radical scavenger especially important for the treatment of neuropathy (loss of normal sensation) in diabetic and prediabetic individuals. Lipoic acid may help to reduce the rate of glycation (the irreversible binding of sugar in the blood to proteins in the body) that accelerates the aging of tissues throughout the body. The best dietary source of lipoic acid is, once again, meat. Usual suggested supplemental dose 100 to 200 milligrams twice a day.

Ultrachrome 200 mcg
: Chromium, an essential trace mineral required for normal function of the insulin receptor, helps to improve the body's sensitivity to insulin, thus reducing not only insulin levels, but often cholesterol levels as well.

Grace Vitamin E:
Grace E is a powerful antioxidant vitamin that works in conjunction with selenium as a potent scavenger of free radicals. Vitamin E is important in preventing the oxidation and damage of the cellular membranes throughout the body. It functions as well in the prevention of blood clots. The Grace Company produces one of the highest quality sources of vitamin E supplements available in this 400 IU dose. The best dietary sources of vitamin E are nuts (especially almonds) and seeds (especially sunflower seeds). Usual suggested supplemental dose begins at 400 IU per day.

Co Q 10:
CoQ10 is a vital catalyst (helper) of the enzymes needed by the cell to produce energy. Especially important for healthy heart function in both men and women, especially those who have taken cholesterol-lowering drugs, which impair the body's production of this important substance. CoQ10 has also been shown to reduce elevated blood pressure, promote weight loss, alleviate the toxic effects of chemotherapeutic (cancer-killing) drugs, and to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women. The highest dietary source of CoQ10 is red meat. As a supplement, it is best taken with other oil based formulas or food to be optimally absorbed. Usual suggested supplemental dose: 100 milligrams per day.

Carlson's Cod Liver Oil:
Lemon flavor. Imported from Norway. Filtered to ensure purity. No fishy after taste. Highest quality of omega 3 oil, which is crucial for our diets of today. This essential fatty acid needs to be supplied to our body through diet. It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with cell membrane integrity. Suggested dose: 1-2 tablespoons per day.

If I have cardio-vascular disease?
i.e., high cholesterol, peripheral neuropathy, high blood pressure or a history of heart problems or stroke.

The first-ever food-based niacin system featuring essential co-nutrients for enhanced activity and herbs that support the action of the formula. Provides 500 mg of no-flush niacin (inositol hexanicotinate) per serving. Niacin helps maintain cholesterol levels that are already within a healthy range.* Also features vitamin C, chromium and taurine - nutritional cofactors that are supportive of niacin's actions in the body - and extracts of herbs such as guggul lipid, artichoke and alfalfa. Suggested dose: work up to 1500 mg per day.
